Our Philosophy

We embrace an education philosophy designed to prepare children for success in the 21st century. We believe in nurturing the whole child by providing a dynamic and innovative learning environment that fosters creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills. In partnership with families and the community. Our child-centred approach to education is based on inquiry-based learning and hands on exploration of the real world through play. Our key principles are:

Environment

We believe in providing a clean safe and secure learning environment that is infused with values that foster love, kindness, empathy towards others, integrity and responsibility. Classrooms are carefully prepared to help children develop independence. Children have free choice within limits to explore their interests while learning to respect the rights and interests of others within the classroom community. Interactions between children of mixed ages builds cooperation and inspiration for children as they learn. We empower children to make positive contributions to communal life.

View of Children

We believe children are unique human beings each with their own interests, abilities and giftedness. Each child, therefore, requires personalized learning experiences to support their growth and development to flourish.

Nurturing relationships

We believe in developing appropriate, positive, loving and nurturing relationships between the caregivers/teachers and the children. These relationships help children develop trust and a sense of security so that they have the liberty to explore, learn and develop social and emotional skills. We encourage and teach children to engage in meaningful conversations with each other and with their teachers and care-givers in order to make sense of the reality around them.

Love for Learning

We empower children to become active participants in their own learning, fostering a love for learning. By nurturing children’s natural curiosity and creativity, we help prepare them to become confident, self-motivated, lifelong learners. Our goal is to equip children with skills, knowledge and a mindset to help them thrive in a dynamic world. We strive to inspire a lifelong love for learning and a readiness for future academic and personal success.

Learning through Play

We believe that play is central to children’s learning and development as it is a natural and essential way for children to make sense of the world. Through play they develop social skills, express themselves, develop creativity, and build foundational knowledge and understanding across all areas of development.

Our Curriculum

We use an enriched eclectic Early Years Curriculum. Our programme is mainly based on foundational core learning through play, derived from the Rwandan National Curriculum (CBC) blended with elements of Montessori, and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) frameworks, to prepare children for international and national primary education in curricula including Primary Years Programme (PYP), K-12, IGCSE, and CBC.

Our curriculum offers a personalized, child-centered approach to education emphasizing  play-based learning to foster school readiness, life skills, and a sense of community built on love and support. We believe in the holistic learning and development of children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical aspects. Our curriculum is designed to address the needs of the whole child, promoting intellectual growth, creativity, emotional intelligence, empathy, and practical life skills.

Our rich and stimulating environments have materials designed to engage children in learning activities in the following areas:

  • Communication and Language
